Sultan Armando de Rossi, an Italian national who first made headlines when he was conferred the title of Sultan by the Royal Houses of the Sultanate of Lanao, spearheads a project that aims to unite children in war-torn Mindanao.

"A Pitch for Peace" strives to bring together children of rebels and civilians, both Muslim and Christian, by teaching them baseball and dividing them into little league baseball teams. The project had successful results when it was first done in Afghanistan.

"We hope to bring back smiles to these children who are caught in the crossfire, help them get into sports, as well as meet new friends," de Rossi, who is also a member of the Philippine Little League Board and the 101st Squadron of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, explains.

In a simple turnover ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo, Sir Edward Artis of Knightsbridge Internationale presented donations consisting of medical supplies, hospital beds, crutches and little league baseball equipment to de Rossi and Datu Ibrahim Paglas of Maguindanao. The momentous event was witnessed by former ISAFP chief General Victor Corpus.

Knightsbridge Internationale is a US-based humanitarian relief organization that provides aid to remote and dangerous locations throughout the world, such as Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Chechnya and Kosovo.

Money Masters US$ Capital Protected Bond
By Michael Denison

It's been a shocking first four years of the 21st century for most investors.

However, Fund managers have taken a step back, had a look and redesigned many investment structures. The following is one such Fund:

Introducing a US$ 6 year investment that tracks a basket of global stock market indices comprising the FTSE 100, the S & P 500, the Nikkei 225 and the DJ Eurostoxx 50 and offers a 10% guaranteed return or 85% of the rise in the basket of indices, whichever is higher.

If you are looking for a medium term investment with 100% capital protection, a guaranteed return and the opportunity for capital growth, the US$ Capital Protected Bond from Anglo Irish Bank Corporation (IOM) PLC could be the account for you.

Incorporated in the Isle of Man, Anglo Irish Bank Corporation is the fastest growing bank in Europe and is listed on the Dublin and London stock exchanges. The bank has 19 offices in 7 countries and has had the best performing financial share in Europe over the last five years. The Isle of Man is undoubtedly the best regulated financial center in the world. It has an AAA rating with Standard & Poors and has a worldwide reputation for financial strength and high standards of regulation. Voted the "best offshore center" for the last seven years at the annual International Money Marketing awards, the Isle of Man is an excellent, safe and secure place for your money.

This investment is suitable for investors who believe the global equity markets will grow over the next 6 years but require a guaranteed return with full capital protection if the equity markets do not perform. A marvelous win-win situation.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Investment will earn 10% interest over 6 years, paid gross, or your investment will benefit from 85% of the growth of an equally weighted basket, comprised of the FTSE 100, S & P 500, Nikkei 225 and Eurostoxx 500 indices, whichever is higher. The US$ Capital Protected Bond will open on the 15th of November, using the closing levels of the FTSE 100, Nikkei 225, Eurostoxx 50 and S&P 500 as of the 12th of November. The investment will run for 6 years, at which point your return will be calculated. This calculation compares the closing values of the indices on the 12th of November 2004 to the average of the monthly closing values over the final year, thus smoothing out the final 12 months of the investment and alleviating any sudden fall in the indices shortly before maturity.

No additional investments can be made to any portion of the investment, after the commencement date or before the maturity date.

HOW MUCH DO I STAND TO GAIN?

If you invest $100,000 this is what would happen:
At the end of year six, if the basket of indices (FTSE 100, Nikkei 225, S & P 500 and Eurostoxx 50) has increased by 40%, your investment would repay $134,000. This would represent your initial capital of $100,000 plus a return of $34,000 ((85% of 40%), 34%, the equivalent of 5.66% p. a. return over the 6 years.

OR

If the basket of indices has not increased to a level higher than the guaranteed return rate of 10%, then your investment would repay $110,000. This would represent your capital of $100,000 plus a return of $10,000, a 10% return, the equivalent of 1.66% p.a. return over the 6 years.

IN SUMMARY
The US$ Capital Protected Bond is US$ denominated with a 6-year investment period. It has a guaranteed return over the 6-year term, with 85 % of the rise in a basket of global stock market indices (equally weighted between the FTSE 100, S & P 500, Nikkei 225 and DJ Eurostoxx 50 - whichever is higher). It is suitable for individual, charity, corporate, trustee, and pension investments. All interest is paid gross. Minimum investment is $20,000.

The US$ Capital Protected Bond is strictly limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Applications and cleared funds must be received by the 12th of November 2004.

The US$ Capital Protected Bond commences on the 15th November 2004 and will mature on the 12th of November 2010. All funds will be distributed within 5 working days of the maturity date.
