Some P5 million worth of medical supplies were ordered distributed yesterday by Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim to the city's health centers and city-run hospitals.
The order came after Lim recieved from the US-based 3P Foundation headed by Armando de Rossi and Congressman Aniceto Saludo Jr. of the Rotary Club Manila, some 200 boxes of medical supplies which filled up a whole truck.
The said supplies, Lim said, are to be given to the city's 49 health centers as well as the city's four hospitals namely: Ospital ng Maynila headed by Dr. Fidel Chua; Tondo Hospital headed by Dr. Teodoro Martin and the Gat Bonifacio Medical Center and Ospital ng Sampaloc headed by Drs. Evengeline Malacca and Janet Tan, respectively.
De Rossi said the supplies, whice included surgical equipments, come as a gfit from the Americans to the residents of Manila.
For his part, Lim expressed profuse thanks to De Rossi and Saludo for the donation and ssaid it will go a long way to help the city's indigents who are being seviced by the said hospitals and health centers.
Meanwhile De Rossi said the 3P Foundation (USA) and the Rotary Club donating within the month hundreds of wheelchairs for the needy.
He said they are just waiting for Mayor Lim to provide them figures to as to how many wheelchairs they should bring in.
